Eersel (Noord-Brabant), March 2019 – Rens Schoenmakers (52) will start on 1 April 2019 as the new CEO of FYEO Medical, the eye clinic for refractive surgery (lens implants and laser eye surgery). He succeeds Paul Holtmann, the founder of FYEO Medical, who remains involved in the company as a consultant.

With more than 40 employees, FYEO Medical offers surgery to replace the glasses, such as laser eye surgery and implant lenses. FYEO Medical is the largest clinic for uninsured refractive surgery in the Netherlands.

In close cooperation with the shareholders, including founder Paul Holtmann and investor Committed Capital, Rens will realize the next step in the growth of the company, after FYEO Medical has developed since its foundation in 2002 into a clinic with a leading position in a growing market. Over the past year, Committed Capital has worked with Paul Holtmann to invest in the capacity and establishment of an experienced management team to increase the number of treatments and expand them internationally.

Rens has twenty years of experience as a manager in the healthcare sector in both start-ups and medium-sized companies. Before that, he was CEO of Welzorg Nederland, a company that specialises in rehabilitation aids for the elderly and people with a disability. For more than ten years, he also managed the Mobility department of Handicare, a global company in the field of products and services for home care. Rens is a mentor and coach at YES! Delft and Rockstart.
